We took an amazing SF trip to the Mediterranean earlier this month! It was a 7 day cruise with stops in the south of France, Italy and Spain. We also had 3 nights in Barcelona--it was truly an incredible trip! The perfect mix of old Europe with all of the history that I love, combined with a beach vacation! What a beautiful, amazing part of the world that I hope we can visit again!
My folks had the kiddos up at the cabin during our trip and they had an awesome time up there! Lots of great memories made and just plain, good old fashioned fun at the lake. :) It was hard to be away from the kiddos for that long but as usual, they were having too much darn fun to miss us!
We are so lucky to have some really close friends that we have traveled a lot on these SF trips--such a fun group!!
I took this one of Jeff on our verandah the first morning in France! We tried to have breakfast every morning on our verandah--it was so much fun to be in a different place every day!
Villefranche-sur-mer, France!
We had a drink at a little patio bar/hotel in Eze, a little artists' village near Villefranche. This little town was completely carved out of the side of the mountain...we found out later the place we had a drink is a hotel that charges $2500 Euros a night! Needless to say one round was enough...pretty spendy! :)

The night we left France was the 4th of July so SF put on an incredible firework show in the bay! Nothing like imposing our national holiday on the French...there were lots of camera flashes going off on the hillside so I think they loved it. :)
Jeff and I had a little dinner on our verandah one night and got to see some whales next to the boat!
It was a beautiful sunset! The Mediterranean Sea is like a big lake! Hardly any swell at all!
Here we are in Portofino, Italy--a beautiful little fishing village! We rented a water taxi to take us back to Santa Margherita and took a little swim in the ocean halfway...it was such a fun memory but I didn't have my camera!

This was in Mallorca, Spain--a little island off of Spain with beautiful beaches. Took us a bit to get used to the lack of swimsuits on these European beaches! :)
This church in Valencia, Spain supposedly houses the real Holy Grail! It was an unbelievable cathedral and pretty cool to say we may have seen the Holy Grail.

Valencia was a really neat city
Creepy mask place! :)
Our time in Barcelona was so much fun--what an amazing place! We stayed at a beautiful hotel and got to see a lot of the city. The locals take a "siesta" in the afternoon and typically don't eat dinner until 11 or 12 at night!! We had a couple of those dinners in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona and had so much fun. The food was amazing and the restaurants had so much energy (people were still coming in the eat at 12:45 when we were leaving!!!) :)
We had a fun "pub crawl" with our friends, The Elliots, one night in Barcelona--such a fun memory!!

Our group dinner was at this HUGE winery in Spain called Cordoniu Cavas. It was quite simply amazing. I just wish the pictures did it justice!!
Flamenco dancers were our entertainment!
This was at the pool at our hotel!

This was from France--HUGE beers with Joel and Ty

We took a little boat tour in Italy & found this little place that is only accessible by boat or walking--no roads into it! It was pretty amazing!
