Fun Times with Grandparents!

The kids were lucky enough to spend time with both sets of grandparents while Jeff & I were on our trips & they had so much fun! They were with Nana & Papa while we were in Mexico & then with Grammy & Grampy while we were in Hawaii. Although it was very hard to us to leave them home, we also knew they are in the absolute BEST care when they are with their grandparents & all parties seem to love it! :) We feel very fortunate to say the least.

We had wanted to take the kids to this amazing dinosaur show in Billings but since we were out of town, they went with Grammy & Grampy & met up with Lez, Bryce & Jane! (Thanks to Marci for the pics!) Brady loves dinosaurs & had a great time.

After the dinosaur show, Lez had everyone including the Moraskos over to her place for a fun BBQ~she has this amazing bouncy house that the kids had a blast in!

The kids were both sick while they were with my folks but still had fun movie nights & "Sparty Parties" watching Michigan State in the tourney! :)

Hawaii!

We qualified for another awesome State Farm trip this year to the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island~the trip was super relaxing & Jeff & I spent most of our time laying by the pool & reading! We also managed to sneak in some awesome snorkeling, golf, tennis (if you can call it that when I play...) and some wonderful meals! We had a blast reconnecting with our SF buddies & hanging with my folks who also qualified. We are definitely planning on taking the kids back someday when they are a little older~it's a great family resort!

This picture only shows about a quarter of the size of the resort~it is beyond HUGE & even has it's own tram & boat canal to take people from one end to the other! We tried to walk most of the time considering we had now been on 2 back-to-back vacations & needed to mix in a little exercise! :) The lagoon behind Jeff had amazing snorkeling & at one point we were snorkeling within about 3 feet of 7 sea turtles! One even bumped into Jeff's mask about giving him a heart attack! :)

Schumacher Wedding in Mexico!

Our dear friends, Pat & Cassie Shumacher got married in Cancun, Mexico March 27th & we were lucky enough to be included in the festivities! It was our first destination wedding that we've been to & it was a total blast! We had so much fun with our friends & felt very honored to be there to share in their special day. Their wedding was absolutely beautiful & the reception was a total hoot!

Remembering Aunt Anne

Jeff's aunt & godmother passed away from a battle with cancer on April 10th. We took the kids and went back to Nebraska for her funeral and to celebrate & remember her life. She was an incredible woman with a great sense of humor & had an impact on so many other people's lives! This was evident by the overwhelming number of people that came to support & remember her (school was even out for the afternoon!) This woman is going to be greatly missed by many people & so dearly missed by her sister Sarah (Grammy.) If you are on Facebook, her students started a page in remembrance of her called We'll miss you Mrs. Garrett.

Obituary

Anne Louise Garrett, the daughter of Daniel J. and Carole L. (Denney) Armbruster, was born at Chanute Air Force Base Rantoul, Illinois on March 17, 1954 and died in Lincoln, Nebraska on April 10, 2010, at the age of 56.
Anne grew up in Osceola, before the family moved to Aurora, where she graduated from Aurora High School in 1972. She received her degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1976, and began her teaching career.
On July 22, 1978, she was married to Michael Garrett at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. She took time off from teaching to raise their four children. Anne returned to teaching in the late 1980’s. She taught first at Hordville Public Schools, then Columbus Public Schools for a year, before returning to Hordville. Anne remained at Hordville during the consolidation to Hordville/Polk/Clarks School District.
Anne was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Altar Society. She taught C.C.D. for many years. She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Anne served on the County Extension Board for several years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed to play golf and loved seeing her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Michael of Polk; four children, Ben (Miranda) Garrett of Fremont, Chad (Michaela) Garrett of Aurora, John Garrett and Lisa Kempt of Hordville and Erin (Brett) Sorensen of Kansas City, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Mira Garrett, Cash Garrett and Elizabeth and Jade Sorensen; mother, Carole Armbruster of Aurora; two sisters, Sarah (Doug) Weedin of Cody, Wyoming and Mary (Chuck) Olsen of Commerce Township, Michigan; brother, David (Julie) Armbruster of Grand Junction, Colorado; great-grandmother, LaVern Denney of Stanton and many nieces, nephews and friends.

So Much Catching Up To Do...

Whew!! As many of you know, The Weedin Family has been on-the-go for the last few weeks so I have been a bit delinquent on my blog...hoping to catch up over the next few days now that we are finally HOME!! Here are some pictures from this week~we've had great weather so we were able to do our first backyard campfire & BBQ complete with 'Smores! Clearly both kids were loving the time outside & the yummy treats.

Brady has also done his transition OUT of basketball season & IN to baseball/golf season...it's really quite funny because it's all of his own doing...he just moves on & we go with the flow! :)

We are consistantly amazed with how much our little Livvy is changing! She has now had about 2 months of walking & is a total pro! Her hair is getting longer & we now have to "fix" it everyday to keep it out of her eyes (no worries, mommy has been practicing & is getting to be a better hairdresser everyday! :)) Her personality cracks us up daily & it's very fun to watch her follow her big brother around...she worships him! She is still our tiny little peanut (not even 20 lbs yet!) but appears to have her mother's appetite & eats more than Brady on a regular basis!
